The Playbarn closed it doors for the final time on Friday 30th Sept 2016.
We have really thrown our hearts and souls into this business over the last five years and it is only through the wonderful support of our customers that we are able to go out on such a high. We wish we didn’t have to, but the pressures of running a small business are continuing to increase and sadly so many factors now make it unsustainable.
We can not emphasise enough our gratitude to everyone who has supported us on this journey. Firstly the Playbarn staff – An outstanding, hardworking, exceptionally friendly bunch (if a bit bonkers!) who have helped make the Playbarn what it is today and become great friends. Our family has been amazing throughout, Grandma Riley, without bias, is the best cake baker (mum & grandma) ever and it has been a privilege to share her wonderful talent with you all. Grandad Riley has been a scientific inspiration and great support throughout and I (Rob) know my mum & dad would have been so proud with what we achieved over the years.
At the Playbarn our aim was to deliver more than just soft play and we need to make extra special mention of the people who helped us to achieve that: Nana Pat, a remarkable lady who just turned up one day with her grandchildren and has then come every single week on a Wednesday to do the most amazing craft sessions, supported enthusiastically by Grandma Linda. Leea’s fabulous art sessions on a Monday and Sheryl from Mini Elephant was also an inspired meeting and we wish her every success in all her future ventures when she finishes here at the end of September.
In the early days we also had fab music and dance sessions with Clare Douglas and Becky Herbert and we thank them too.
And finally a HUGE thank you to our customers! We have been made so welcome in this community, have had such great support over the years and made so many lasting friendships. We simply couldn’t have done it without you!!!
Thank You again. Rob, Sally-Anne and the girls xxxx
